Rebecca Raw Releases Debut EP, 'Deep Within'

Rebecca Raw is a British singer/songwriter whose songs are a unique blend of pop, soul, and folk elements. Growing up in suburban London, Rebecca began learning the cello at the age of seven and shortly after, picked up the clarinet too. She sang in choirs throughout her younger years and the classical tradition was the backbone of her training right up to her obtaining a music degree from Cambridge University.

Alongside this, she developed a love for performing jazz, soul and pop music and once she graduated, Rebecca began dividing her time between teaching the cello and performing as a singer at events. Having always been fascinated by great lyrics and captivating melodies it was only natural that she herself would begin to explore the craft of writing songs.

Her debut EP Deep Within (2017) is a bold statement which partners intimate storytelling with a rich, contemporary sound.  Her honest and thought-provoking lyrics are the heartbeat of this offering and her smooth, mesmerising voice is the compelling communicative vehicle that defines this release.

Rebecca tells authentic musical stories with insight, warmth and sensitivity. She comments that "each song was born as a personal response to a challenging time but hope prevails in my life and I always try to encapsulate this in my music.  As others reach into the heart of these stories I hope that they will discover for themselves more treasures of this rich, wonderful, crazy thing called life."

The first track on Deep Within is called "Connection." It is the signature song from the EP and was premiered by Dan Golding on Premier Praise radio. Rebecca explains that this song is "an intensely personal exploration of a widely-shared experience: the desire for deeper, more dependable relationships in a time when many are shallow and fleeting."

Deep Within is now available on all digital and streaming platforms.

The Dustbowl Revival's warm, soulful track  "Honey I Love You," presents an unconventional, yet charmingly sweet, look at finding that perfect person and a love that lasts a lifetime. Watch the video  HERE.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Press Release)— Over the past few years,  The Dustbowl Revival   has been making a name for itself with a vibrant mix of vintage Americana sounds. Critics have proclaimed that this eclectic eight-piece “would have sounded utterly at home within the hallowed confines of Preservation Hall in New Orleans' French Quarter” (Los Angeles Times) and their “upbeat, old-school, All-American sonic safaris exemplify everything shows should be: hot, spontaneous, engaging and, best of all, a pleasure to hear” (L.A. Weekly).  Rob Sheffield,  in  Rolling Stone, hailed them as a great band “whose Americana swing was so fun I went back to see them again the next day.”

Their new eponymous album, due out on  Signature Sounds  on  June 16, 2017, however, finds the Los Angeles-based ensemble evolving and refining its music. Their always-joyous sound now reveals a more soulful, funky side that exudes deeper emotions and taps a more modern vibe.

Glenn Morrow Returns to Action with Raucous 'Cry For Help'

HOBOKEN, N.J. (Press Release)— With a new band behind him and a reinvigorated spirit,  Glenn Morrow   will release his latest collection of raucous rockers via  Rhyme and Reason Records.   The eponymous  Glenn Morrow’s Cry for Help,  out  June 23, 2017, is a winning amalgam of energetic guitar blues, mesmerizing  Velvets-style rhythms and grooves, sardonic storytelling, and the sort of no-frills, straight-to-the-gut alternative rock that Hoboken, New Jersey is famous for.

Call Morrow a local legend, and he’d probably demur: he’s a modest guy, and he prefers to let his songs do the talking. But in Hoboken — a town that has always celebrated idiosyncratic rock musicians — people know better. Morrow has been central to musical movements in the Mile Square City for more than three decades, both as a songwriter/performer and as the head honcho of  Bar/None Records, an imprint that has always flown the flag for courageous artists. He was one of the first musicians to play at  Maxwell’s, the epicenter of the scene for decades, and when Maxwell’s closed in 2013 to great fanfare (it’s since reopened under new management) it was Morrow onstage with his old bands the Individuals and “a” to bring the curtain down.

That show — plus a thorough re-reading of music critic  Robert Palmer’s  Deep Blues   and a thorough engagement with classic records — inspired Morrow’s latest project.

NASHVILLE, TENN. (April 27, 2017 Press Release) - Country music icon Charley Pride is pleased to announce his upcoming album, Music In My Heart, set for release July 7. The project marks the CMA “Entertainer of the Year” winner's first new studio release in more than six years, and features 13 all-new recordings, produced by traditional singer-songwriter Billy Yates. Music In My Heart will be released in the United States via Music City Records, and available at physical and digital retailers nationwide.

“It was fun getting back into the studio. My goal was to record the best traditional country album possible. But I also wanted someone else to handle all of the producer chores so that I could focus more on my singing,” said Pride. “Billy Yates and I started working together early last year. His self-produced albums show a strong respect for traditional country and he's a good songwriter too. Finding the right songs took a while and we both keep busy schedules, so this album took longer to finish than I'm used to. But we did find some wonderful songs and I'm very happy with how everything sounds. I hope everyone will enjoy listening to the album as much as I enjoyed making it.”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 26, 2017) -  Arkansas native and rising country music star, Barrett Baber, has written an inspiring song titled “Still Stands,” to be featured in an upcoming war documentary film called  Danger Close.  Barrett first arrived on the country scene by achieving Top 3 status on Season Nine of The Voice.

The film, from the  Heroes of Valor Collection, is an inspiring story about U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Robert Ryan Pirelli who was killed in action during Operation Iraqi Freedom in August 2007.  Pirelli used his engineering skills to build an outpost in the dangerous Diyala province that protected American soldiers during the war. The outpost continued to serve its purpose long after Pirelli’s death and was later named Combat Outpost Pirelli in his honor.  The story is told by multi-award winning female war reporter, Alex Quade, and her willingness to go into harm's way to capture true and accurate combat reporting that honors our war heroes.

The Contribution Release New Music Throughout 2017
Singles to be released for seven months, with 100% of proceeds going to nonprofits

Rex Foundation, Conscious Alliance, HeadCount, Rock the Earth, The Delaware Riverkeeper Network,  BCEF (Breast Cancer Emergency Fund in SF Bay area), and Piedmont Land Conservatory

ASHEVILLE, NC --  The Contribution  has been living up to their name and giving back, they released their third single from their Wilderness And Space  project April 21, benefiting HeadCount.  Listen to the Exclusive Stream Premiere of “Passengers of Darkness” at Live For Live Music.
Since this February, The Contribution has been releasing one single a month, as sort of a mid-month pick-me-up. They have partnered with a variety of nonprofits to which 100% of the profits from each single (sold as a digital download) will go to a charity (hand-picked by members of the band) in perpetuity.

The Contribution is the brainchild of  Tim Carbone  of Railroad Earth (violin, guitar, vocals) together with  Phil Ferlino (keyboards, vocals) and  Jeff Miller (guitar, vocals) of New Monsoon.  Keith Moseley (String Cheese Incident), has been the bass player from the band’s inception along with vocalist   Sheryl Renee (The Black Swan Singers). The drum chair has been occupied by  Jason Hann (String Cheese Incident), Matt Butler (Everyone Orchestra), and currently  Duane Trucks (Widespread Panic). Both Matt Butler and Duane Trucks appear on the band’s new record, Wilderness And Space. Although the band is comprised of some of the scene’s heavy hitters, the first listen to their music reveals their love of 60s pop and soul coupled with their ability to flat-out shred. The full ten song album will be released on vinyl this Fall on LoHi Records.
