"Half as Good is sort of an echo track to the mindset behind the song Two from our first album. We are so grateful to have discovered one another, because we feel as if our lives have improved from our commitment to one another. Relationships are hard work, but we believe that taking the time to truly recognize what we have in one another is one of the secrets to happiness. Even more, we believe our music was only half as good until we made the decision to combine our talents and share the spotlight."

Fans can pre-order a copy of the Old Songs album on iTunes by clicking here and immediately receive the lead single Half as Good. The duo just wrapped production on a music video for the single that will be premiered next month.  Old Songs will be available on all major online retailers on Friday, May 4.

Song Premiere: Nate Daviau "Miss Him Too"

Hailing from the North [Toronto], yet inspired by the South, Nate Daviau (pronounced Dav-ee-o) is a is a singer-songwriter who draws from a broad range of interests including pop, folk, gospel, and jazz as well as contemporary Americana artists like Chris Stapleton and Jason Isbell. Nate's debut single "Carry This Love" was released this past February and immediately found a warm reception, finding airplay on Sirius XM and CBC Country.

Today, TDC is excited to bring you the follow-up to "Carry This Love," the rootsy "Miss Him Too." Penned by Daviau, "Miss Him Too" mixes sentimentality and optimism in the relatable story of a couple facing hard times. Led by Daviau's heartfelt, yet gritty and determined vocals, "Miss Him Too's" driving percussion and subtle guitar twang guide the way back to the one he loves....and himself.

"I want the last time you cried
To be the last time you'll cry
I want the last time I drove you insane
To be the last time I went driving that way"

Daviau relays the story behind the song,
"Often, when you try and tell someone you love that they have changed, they react defensively. It's something that I think a lot of couples struggle with. This song describes the idealized response to this criticism; I think it's what most people wish their partner would say or do. While I was writing this tune, I wanted to emphasize that this is a dramatic response and maybe a bit of a romanticized one. To do this, I pictured this as the last opportunity to get the girl back and imagined the guy trying to get to her as fast as he could. It makes the song sound like a chase."

Nate, who currently attends the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, will be releasing an EP and touring this summer. Look for dates soon. For more information visit:

Today, the Nashville-based Americana quintet Birdtalker announced their highly anticipated full-length debut album One which will be released on June 22nd. They also premiered their new single from the project, “Free Like a Broken Heart," a jangly carefree folk-rocker with expansive melodies and stunning harmonies that soars with a bright optimism.

"The way I experience life is that if you experience a sad thing, it's almost by letting yourself dive straight down into it and feel the stuff that those things don't have a hold on you anymore," described Dani of the new single. "If you ever want to move past the sadness, you have to let it be there for a little while. And then once you allow it to move through you, your heart is still broken, but there's this beauty in knowing that new growth will happen soon."

Paul Cauthen's 'Have Mercy' Searches for Truth in a Polarized World

Somewhere between an EP and an album, Paul Cauthen's new seven-track collection, 'Have Mercy,' out June 22 via Lightning Rod Records, is a stunning showcase of the pure power of truth and love.

Building off the success of the troubadour's breakout debut 'My Gospel,' which found itself on a slew of year-end lists, 'Have Mercy' pushes Cauthen's songwriting to new heights as he searches for common ground and peace of mind in an increasingly polarized world.

"I'm a singer not a preacher, but these songs are my sermon," says Cauthen, who writes with a unique blend of Biblical and modern vernacular, a style he likely picked up from his grandfather, a pastor. "We're ripping each other apart out there, and forgiveness and mercy are what's going to get us through. I want to use my voice the best I can to spread that message while I'm here on this Earth."

Vince Guaraldi's 'The Complete Warner Bros.-Seven Arts Recordings' coming as 2-CD set from Omnivore + Red Vinyl for 'Oh Good Grief!'

4/27/2018

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — (Press Release) Omnivore Recordings will release two titles from pianist Vince Guaraldi on July 6, 2018: The Complete Warner Bros.–Seven Arts Recordings (encompassing three Warner Bros.-Seven Arts albums: Oh, Good Grief!, The Eclectic Vince Guaraldi and Alma-Ville), as a two-CD set with four previously unreleased bonus tracks; and the classic Oh, Good Grief! album, on translucent red vinyl.

Many people got to know Guaraldi through his 1963 Grammy®-winning song, “Cast Your Fate to the Wind,” or via the group Sounds Orchestral’s Top 10 cover of it two years later. Lee Mendelson heard Guaraldi’s version while working on a Peanuts documentary; he contacted the pianist and asked him to score that project. Although Mendelson wasn’t able to sell that documentary to network television, he and Guaraldi subsequently reunited for what became the first Peanuts television special, A Charlie Brown Christmas. It was a match that made TV and musical history. With songs like “Linus and Lucy” the show was a hit, and for more than five decades not a holiday season has gone by without an airing. So potent and successful was the Peanuts/Guaraldi combination that the jazz pianist went on to score a total of 15 Peanuts television specials, a 1969 documentary and the debut feature film that same year.
